Post-Frame Construction
Pole Buildings in Delaware & Maryland
Shops, garages, farm buildings and commercial space built post-frame across Sussex, Kent and New Castle County and the Eastern Shore. Stamped drawings, 28-gauge steel, and site work priced on the same sheet as the building.
What is a pole building?
A pole building — post-frame construction — carries the roof on laminated columns set on engineered footings instead of a foundation wall and stud walls. The columns run from footing to truss, so the trusses can span 40, 60, even 80 feet with no interior posts in the way.
That is the whole reason people build this way: clear span, faster erection, and a lower cost per square foot than stick-frame or pre-engineered steel for the same footprint. "Pole barn," "pole building" and "post-frame building" all describe the same system — the farm term just stuck.
